Accountability

So, last week I outed myself weightwise. Today I'm down to 151.5--just 7.5 pounds over what I need to weigh to be able to wear my professional clothes for Nationals. Here are some of my supposed keys to success although it'll be interesting to see how well these work now that I have the bulk of my trip weight off:

1. Whole foods. After reading Master Your Metabolism I am trying Jillian Michaels's suggestion to avoid processed foods and to eat organic whenever possible. I'm also avoiding artifical sweeteners.
2. Exercise. I've made it to the gym twice this week, ran once, and danced my little heart out to Wii's Just Dance.
3. Supplements. I'm taking my multivitamins, calcium, fish oil, and fiber again--the biggest change here was an increase in energy.

So, that's the plan for now. I'll be including more updates as Mondays roll along because I won't want to admit to all of you that I backslid!

Anybody have any helpful hints?

  1. Apple cider vinegar -- 1oz twice a day, mixed with juice or something.
It's horrible, but it's supposed to break down the liposomethingsomething enzymes-hormones that keep fat in the liver.
Or at least that's what I've read in some women's magazine.

  2. Don't eat after 7pm. When I do this, I tend to loose weight...mainly because I don't eat. Since I don't get home until 6pm it is after 7 before I've corralled the family into the kitchen. So large healthy lunch, lots of water and stop eating after 7 pm. Good-luck Sally

  3. Thanks, ladies! I ate pizza last night *sigh*, so I'm back to where I started.

  4. I follow the "anything eaten after 7 p.m. turns to fat" rule.

In January I weighed 142 and now I'm down to 130. I need to be at 122ish.

I always eat breakfast. I try to have salad and soup for lunch. I eat a piece of fruit a day. If it is after seven in the evening I don't eat.

I have tomatoes and green peppers coming in my redneck garden and they are delish! I've had salad every night.

My tummy is always flatter if I don't eat supper. When makes me not want to eat supper.

BTW: I am mailing your charm and your check for your Duel on the Delta writing contest win. The certificate will come under separate cover as the prez has to sign them, well first I have to design them ... Repeat after me: Never take over a contest in mid-stream. And you'll need a silver chain for the charm as it will not go on your badge. It is a beautiful crossed dueling pistol charm. Handmade by a silversmith. Lovely.
